Dr. Benson is a Naturopathic primary care physician who provides patient-centered care for acute and chronic conditions including diabetes, hypothyroidism, hormonal imbalance, acne, fertility and prenatal support, adrenal fatigue, anxiety, depression, allergies, IBS, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.  Her treatments often include food intolerance evaluations, nutritional counseling, botanical medicine, homeopathy, movement recommendations, and bodywork.  She believes the most important medicine is nourishing food, natureand humor and she prides herself on finding creative ways to incorporate those medicines into her patient’s day-to-day life.  Social justice and equality are issues very close to her heart and she does her best to acknowledge those impacts on our health. Dr. Benson graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine.  She has received additional training in botanical medicine, homeopathy and craniosacral therapy at the School of Traditional Western Herbalism, the New England School of Homeopathy, and the Moving Mountain Institute.  She received her undergraduate degree in Philosophy with a focus on environmental studies at the University of Oregon.

Dr. Benson considered dedicating herself to art, culinary school and law school stemming from a desire for creativity, her love of food and the way it serves as a means of connection, and a career where she was able to help others.  Dr. Benson thoroughly enjoys her current practice where she is able to incorporate her previous passions through naturopathic medicine.  In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, cold dips in rivers, making herbal medicine, live music, cooking, cycling, traveling and most importantly sharing laughter with her friends and family.
