Cory Szybala, ND
Dr. Szybala is a licensed naturopathic physician and graduate of the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Throughout his career Dr. Szybala has worked with and in a variety of medical disciplines providing him the skills necessary for a truly integrative approach to family medicine and men’s health. His passions and focus lie in digestive concerns, men’s health, blood sugar dysregulation (e.g. pre-diabetes, diabetes, metabolic syndrome), dermatology (e.g. eczema, acne, sun damage, dry skin), preventative cardiology (e.g. high blood pressure, high cholesterol, weight loss), sports medicine and rehabilitation and pediatrics.
While in school Dr. Szybala developed a special interest in medical nutrition and using food as medicine where he learned about and quickly became a member of the acclaimed Food As Medicine Everyday Series (previously known as the ECO Project). The series includes twelve workshops demonstrating simple techniques for selecting and cooking delicious, nutritious whole foods and how they influence individual health outcomes. He is still active in the Food As Medicine Institute helping teach portions of their 12-week community-based nutrition series, being available for public speaking engagements and working as an adjunct faculty member at the National University of Natural Medicine.
Raised in the Midwest, Dr. Szybala graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in biochemistry and minors in psychology and biology. Having spent much of his life in the healthcare field, Dr. Szybala was excited to have learned about a type of medicine that combines the benefits of the current medical model with that of a more holistic, preventative and individualized approach. In his free time, Dr. Szybala enjoys cooking, hiking, climbing, biking, reading and photographing nature.
